TutorSync (tutorsync.in) helps tuition teachers in India manage students, fees and attendance. This notice explains what information the service handles and why.
Who is responsible
The teacher or institute that creates the account decides which students and parents to record and is responsible for having their permission, including parental permission for children. TutorSync provides the software and stores the data on the teacher's behalf. [Legal roles to be confirmed by counsel.]
What we store
- Teacher account: name, email address, institute name, optional phone number, language choice.
- Students: name, optional parent or guardian name and mobile number, batch, subject, monthly fee, admission month, optional notes.
- Records: fee dues, payments and receipts, attendance marks, and a log of important changes (without names or phone numbers).
We do not ask for government ID numbers, home addresses, bank or card details.
Why
Only to run the service for the teacher: tracking fees, producing receipts, taking attendance and preparing reminder messages. We do not sell data, show advertising, or track students' behaviour.
WhatsApp reminders
TutorSync prepares a message; the teacher reviews it and sends it from their own WhatsApp. TutorSync does not send messages to parents.
Where data is kept
Data is stored with Google Firebase / Google Cloud in the Mumbai (India) region [to be confirmed at launch]. Each teacher's data is separated from every other teacher's, and access is controlled by the server.
Your choices
- Access and portability: Settings, Your data lets you download students, payments and monthly fees as spreadsheets.
- Correction: edit any student or institute detail at any time. Payments are corrected by reversal, so the history stays accurate.
- Deletion: Settings, Delete account locks the account immediately and permanently removes it after 30 days. You can cancel within that time.
Security
Connections are encrypted, access is checked on the server for every sensitive action, and sensitive actions are logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
